I accept that Billy the iPod acting all wonky is the universe's way of telling me that bouncing it off the office floor every few days is bad for it. I get it.
My Powerbook deciding that it was now going to make an alarming popping-grinding-clicky sound every time I turn it on or plug it in (or play a movie), however, is purely unfair. I'm leaving for grad school in six weeks - I have no money and I need my computer. True, if it's going to die on me, now is better than later. Still...
Appointment at the local Apple Store this afternoon, where they will, I hope, look at it, listen to the noise and say "ah-ha, yes, that problem, we can fix that problem." And that that problem, whatever it is, is significantly less expensive than buying a whole new computer.
Wish me luck.
*crosses fingers*
