"...Was Found Face First On Her Desk..."

I stayed up all night watching the last seven episodes of NuWho series four.

I think NuWho and I might be done now. There will be more on that when I feel less like (an) ass.

The goal for today (now that I've reviewed the correspondence) is to keep from drooling on myself in the office.

Cheers, all. It's Monday again.

Poor Judgement

A choice between sleep, coffee and food (and exercise)
Sleep was chosen
A mistake
It seems
All things lost in seeming, sleepy eyes and empty brains
Retreat to instinct
Stagger
Roam unto the 7-11
Manna in a travel mug
Chemical clarity

The bean is a lie

Oh, Irony.

Hee.

I just caught myself squeaking "Dude! Not at work!" to my monitor while reading Grey's Anatomy girlslash. The Irony, she is delicious today.

Nevertheless, I am a rockstar. This thing about change being as good may have some truth to it as, so far, I am enjoying my new portfolio. Not as much as I would enjoy A NEW JOB but it's been interesting. And God knows that's not something I've said about work in a while.

Still, you'd think the interns and especially one Izzie "Your name ain't exactly the best in the hospital" Stevens would know better than to go off canoodling their attendings especially after being chewed out by Dr. Miranda Bailey once already that day... o_O

Writers! Characterization and logic - they matter.

I'll Show You an Intelligent Design...

A last minute surge, from 3:30 to 5:00, while access to the Internet rescued this day from being a complete loss and brought my approvals list down to 19 items. Obviously, not being able to get on the 'net is good for me.

My back's all screwed up though, muscles tense and achey and I've been falling asleep in front of my computer all day. Did manage to remember to get lunch, however, which makes this a red-letter day! It will be the first time in two or three weeks that I've eaten all three of the main meals of the day.

Meanwhile, I still haven't heard back from the University of Edinburgh about the req's for their MSc program in Creative Writing but I'm 750 words towards something for my portfolio, which is 750 words closer than I was last week this time.

What do you know? Psychiatry works.

Cranky vs. Catholic Intelligent Design Whackjobs - I'll take your copy of Genesis and beat you to death with it... )

"Icy" + "Rage" = My Monday at Work.

Well, hell - stepped out the front door of the building this morning to several centimetres of snow and icy pellets of freezing rain hailing down on my face.

Yuck.

Traditionally, it takes me an hour and a half to get into work during the first snowstorm of the year, regardless of the fact that I could practically walk the distance to my office in that amount of time. Nevertheless, transit service sucked and I dutifully stood around waiting for the bus in my funny hat for a half hour, listening to the ice pellets tok-tok-tok against the plastic lid of my coffee cup.

Successfully navigated a semi-formal dinner party in my apartment Saturday night - go me. There is something definitely screwy about my oven, though - the Beouf Bourguignon that was supposed to take 3 and a half hours to cook was done in less than two. That's not right. Still, it tasted good, which is the important part, but my sense of culinary amour propre is offended.

Also, I got a Queen Elizabeth I rubber ducky for Christmas from one of my honourary aunts: too cool.

I watched the first episode of the new series of Rome this morning before leaving for work (from inside, I couldn't see the freezing rain, otherwise I might have left it for tonight) - Vorenus and Pullo's talent for carnage should not delight me so much. But it does.

Favourite exchange:
Marc Antony: I'm not leaving this bed until I fuck somebody!

Atia (aggrieved): Oh, all right! Marlena(? didn't catch the name), go get that German slut from the kitchen.
*lol!*
My clients can go fuck themselves. Utteryly useless bunch of self-important twats - couldn't find their own assholes with the help of a seeing eye-dog. What a waste of my fucking time.

This is why I want to get the fuck out of here and go to graduate school.

*grumble*

Hope everyone else has a better day at work (or not - I think the Yanks are all off home today. Lucky them). Ta!
