19 years after I got my wish and evicted the doublebed that was taking up far more than it's far share of my teenaged bedroom, I've come full circle on the subject of beds. To whit: I want a big girl bed!

*pout* and *whine*

I can no longer remember why I wanted to get rid of my doublebed. I expect that it was a case of the sheets always being greener (cleaner?) on the other bed - I'd always had a double bed and there seemed to be a simplicity to a twin bed that appealed. Now I just think I was fifteen and frickin' crazy.

I suppose I could try and pry my old double bed out of my parents but I think after almost 20 years, they consider it theirs. And I'm painfully broke so actually buying one will have to wait a little longer.

I am pretty sure, however, that I can afford to buy a new bookcase, coat rack for the front hall and end table this weekend (further increasing the representation of Ikea furniture in my life), and I can reorganize my life that necessary little bit. This will make me happy. Also, I will buy some paint and paint my end tables to reduce the variety of wood tones in my living room, which will also make me happy. Or I can look for furniture that doesn't come from Ikea and buy an end table. Maybe.

Sometimes cheap is good.

1) The sewage she is gone from my bathroom. Alas, I still have to clean it, my rugs, my bath buddy, my slippers and, oh, heck - just about all my laundry and most of the rest of the apartment. Boo. Sucks.

2) The only thing worse than turning on your TV to discover another school massacre is to to turn on your TV to discover another pointless discussion of the gun registry. Yes, how terrible awful that people should have to inform the government that they own a gun. I mean it's not like we licence cars or anything. How about this, when I rule the universe, I'm taking all your guns away and then you'll really have something to complain about, eh? Until then just STFU.

3) Mike Duffy? Seriously - you're so on my "Shovels and Stakes" list. There should be some sort of law against that degree of pompous gasbaggery perpetrated on TV by somone who's not Rex Murphy.

4) Veronica Mars fandom and Superhero comic books - I love VM and I love Batman but about 84.69 per cent of VM "fandom" and the fanboy/creator circle jerk that is the Big Two these days makes me yearn for a cattleprod and an airlock to call my own.
   - Note that this doesn't stop me from a) haning around VM fandom or b) reading comics because that would be...
     oh, I don't know... smart?

5) Oh, BBC - Doctor Who, Torchwood and Life on Mars: if it weren't for you, I'd be forced to go read a book and then I'd be really difficult to get along with.

On a different subject entirely, as much as I love Batgirl in all her variations, this is just not right.

Also, Fafblog just blomitted about 30 entries from 2006 on my friends' page - dude, it's not cool to spam the flist.

Wouldn't you know I encounter an interesting debate on the Lilith House plot on Veronica Mars the day after I delete Season Three from my harddrive? Of coures I would.

Head, meet Desk - go to town.

FWIW, that was less a comment on my appreciation of VM this season than recognition of the fact that of things on my harddrive, VM was the most likely to be released soonest in an affordable format.

Also, went to see a Rock game tonight - much fun was had even though we lost. And my toilet and all drains in my apartment will be out of commission until Monday. God must like baby seals.
