I am not loving Rome this time about.

Is it me?

No, baby, I'll change... )

There a came a moment this morning, in between reading Battlestar Galactica fluff-fic and reading the daily correspondence, that the music on my iPod insinuated itself into my consciousness and I realized that, yes, I was listening to a Belle and Sebastian song about laundry. And that I was bopping along in my desk chair - it's the little things that add colour to our lives.

After I finished watching Rome last night (a disappointing episode except for Vorenus and Pullo and Octavia's weirdly matter-of-fact approach to her mother's latest atrocity adventure), I switched to Veronica Mars. After the horror of last week's promo, I was justifiably apprehensive but instead "There's Got to Be a Morning After Pill" turned out to be one of the best episodes of Veronica Mars ever, with the sneakiness, Father-Daughter hijinks, sly wit, continuity porn and fine writing and performances that I have come to expect from VM - certainly the best episode so far this season.

Now, if only they lure Wallace out of that motel he's locked himself in while teaching himself mechanical engineering...

According to The Toronto Star, the Motion Picture Association of America's claims about camcorder piracy in Canada are full of shit.

The MPAA spreading inaccurate, contradictory, misleading and false information on the impact of piracy on the film industry's revenue (negligible) - never say it.

Scumwads.

Added to the list of things that piss me off this afternoon is the Lost recap show. Dudes, it's a TV show - admittedly, it's not a TV show I like because Lost PTB don't play fair with their audience and clearly don't have a fucking clue where this whole thing is headed - not the Second Coming or Rosetta stone. The portentious and grave attitude to the commentary is ridiculous.

My anticipation of 300 verges on the sexual. I admit it, I'm shallow: two hours of Gerard Butler in a loincloth trumps politics any day.

See the pretty.

This is the kind of hockey I grew up with every Saturday night on the CBC.

I'm not sure how good the hockey was but the games were never boring...

I've been holding myself aloof from Friday Night Lights because the ratings are bad - damn near Veronica Mars bad. And there's only so much loss a girl can take but, damn me - she said, pulling her honourary Texian accent out of mothballs - if that ain't some fine TV right there. Kyle Chandler should be nationalized so we all can get some.

Now, to keep the theme of honest Texas folk (apart from that sumbitch in D.C.) alive, I'm watching The Best LIttle Whorehouse in Texas.

I do sincerely wonder, ha'ever, how on earth did Dolly walk about with those girls.... *blink* Landsakes.
